Thomas D. Mallas, 73, Scranton, died Sunday at home under the care of his wife, Eileen. He was the loving husband of 47 years, married to the former Eileen McLaine.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Peckville, and professional organizations. Tom enjoyed sharing wonderful times with his family at their cottage at Spruce Lake and Rocky the dog. He enjoyed walks, especially at Nay Aug Park, and daily rides. He truly enjoyed the Christmas season and happy times with his family.

In the wee hours of the morning, Tom began the next chapter of his new life by falling into the arms of his mom, dad, his brother, Nicky; and many other beloved family and friends who passed before him.

The family extends sincere appreciation to the those who cared for Tom, the at-home caregivers, the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart and the caregivers at Elmcroft Memory Care Facility.
