Owen Byrne, 87, of Clarks Summit, died Friday in Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Facility. He was the husband of Carolyn Rippon-Notari. The couple was married since May 24, 1984.

Owen was born March 16, 1933, in Staten Island, N.Y. Before his retirement, Owen worked for many years in human resources.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all their kindness and care for Owen.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Lisa Longstreet and husband, Sam, of Clarks Summit; stepson, Christopher Notari and wife, Janel, of Clarks Summit; his son, Owen Byrne Jr.; daughters, Louise Timbers, Vilma Kuttner and Elizabeth Haskill; his grandchildren, Erica Longstreet, Tyler Longstreet, Nicholas Notari, Lauryn Notari, Katrina and Kyloe Timbers and Andrew Kuttner.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Jacobson; and his brother-in-law, Mollar Jacobson.

A private cremation will take place at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service's on-site crematory. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Dalton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.
