Helen Ann (Jones) Hartford, 74, formerly of Clarks Summit and Largo, Fla., died Wednesday in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart inpatient facility, Dunmore, with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late William C. Hartford, who died July 25, 1996.

Born March 15, 1947 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Rayner) Jones. She graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1965. She worked in department stores and retail businesses as a sales consultant. She formerly was associated with the family business Hartford Insurance Agency, Clarks Summit. Helen was a member of First Presbyterian Church Clarks Summit and a former member of the Joseph Hall Memorial Ladies Auxiliary of Clarks Summit Fire Company, No. 1 Inc., a social member of the Abington Memorial Post #7069, VFW.

Helen was a fun loving person who idolized her nieces and nephew and their children.

She loved her family pets. While in Largo, she was an avid full court shuffleboard player, bocce ball player and loved the Florida sunshine.

Surviving are a sister, Nancy Puksta and husband, Ron, Scranton; nieces, Kera Evans and husband, Jason, Old Forge, and Tara Glynn and husband, Geoffrey, Newton Twp.; nephew, Ryan Puksta and wife, Sara, Scranton; great-nieces and nephews, Hailey and Cole Evans, Connor and Collin Glynn, and Andrew Puksta.

A private cremation will take place at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service's on-site crematory. Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly Twp.
