Alexander Duffield

Big Al. Papa. Larger than life. He had a smile, energy and personality that lit up a room. He always had a great story to tell and always made us laugh. He was outgoing, generous, enthusiastic and had an incredible memory. He knew all the best quotes from his favorite movies and he loved movies! He also loved music, audiobooks, card games, “Law and Order,” fishing, playing catch with the kids, concerts, traveling, big cats, dogs – all animals – and most of all, he loved his family and his friends.

He held tight to family and friends. He was loyal, always had his friends’ backs, and had friends everywhere.

His best buddy was a feisty 10-pound ruffian named Toby who would sit on his Papa’s lap, ears flapping, halfway out the window as they drove around in the sunshine. Toby, Macy, and Big Kitty will miss him dearly.

He will be incredibly missed by his beautiful daughters, Sami and Abby; his wonderful wife, Tami; his mother-in-law, Sandra; father, Gerry; step-mom, Vanessa; sisters Jennelle and Angel; brothers Eric, Kyle and Zach; his aunts and uncles, Mimi, Gary, Elna and Larry; and cousins Steve and Mike.

Alex had a large extended family and was very close to so many loved ones. He truly enjoyed getting to spend time with his nieces and nephews: Maya, Amelia, Evan, Colin, Grayson, Natalia, Vaida, Jeremy, Thomias, Spencer and Zachary Thomas. He will also be missed by his father-in-law, Alfredo; brothers and sisters in law, Adrian, Ili, Dave and Laura; his Miami family, Willy, Angelica, Gaby, Desi, Deli, Adolfo, and Bobby; and all of his many close and loving friends, including Jason, Greg, Mark, Mike, Rachel, Wilkie, Timmy, Dave, and so many, many others!!!

Life wasn’t always fair or easy but throughout it all Alex and Tami never stopped laughing together and loving each other. They eagerly looked forward to the next chapter in life, becoming grandparents and holding their first precious grandchild, due to be born in the fall.

When Alex reaches the pearly gates, he will be greeted by his loving mom, Kathy; his step-dad Big Dave, his beautiful step-sister Vannie, and his friends Dave and John who, like Alex, left us too soon. He will also be reunited with his adored furry companions Bob, Sylvia, Fefe, and Nacho. They will all be smiling.

A Celebration of Life memorial party is being planned for the summer. Alex wanted to be remembered for all of the fun and laughter he brought into this world. And to all our friends and family who have so generously helped us during this difficult time, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
