William Robert Mullin, 84, of Clarks Green, died on Tuesday, in Abington Manor. He was the husband of Ann (Flanagan) Mullin to whom he was married for over 54 years.

Born December 16, 1941 in Scranton, William was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Kitner) Mullin. He was an Eagle Scout and graduate of Scranton Preparatory School. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Scranton. He proudly served his country as a naval aviator aboard the USS Intrepid. Following the Navy, he worked for many years as a pilot for Trans World Airlines, retiring in 2001.

Bill, or Pops as he was known to his grandkids, was a kind and quiet man. He was always willing to lend a hand to any family or friends who needed it. He adored his granddaughters. He would never miss any of their events. You would always find him at a soccer match, tennis match, or dance recital.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Abington Manor for their compassionate care over the last 3 years of his residency.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by his son, Edward Mullin and wife, Caroline, daughter Marlene Mullin, grandchildren, Lydia and Bernie Mullin, a brother, Daniel Mullin, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Walsh.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 11am at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Rd., Clarks Green, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:45 to 10:45am at the Church. Interment will be private.
