Thomas Headley

Thomas Joseph Headley, 62, of Centermoreland, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Commonwealth Home Health and Hospice of NEPA.

Born Sept. 9, 1949, in Kingston, son of the late Dorrance and Josephine Tedesco Headley, he was a lifelong resident of Centermoreland, a graduate of Tunkhannock High School and attended Penn State drafting program. He was a machinist and a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and had been employed before his illness at Ashley Machine and Tool, Wyoming. He formerly had worked at Procter & Gamble, Washington Twp.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the NRA. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and especially enjoyed his Harleys. A loving father and grandfather, he idolized his granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time with them and singing with them. A fun-loving man, he will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Surviving are two daughters, Sarah Checho and husband, Jesse, Jessup; and Jennifer Ritzco and husband, J.J., Montdale; a brother, John Headley, Centermoreland; a sister, Joyce Coolbaugh, Lehman; and two granddaughters, Josephine "Josie" Checho and Lucy Ritzco.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dorrance "Sonny" Headley.

A memorial service will be Saturday at noon in the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, by Monsignor James J. McGarry, pastor Our Lady of the Snows Parish. Interment, Marsh Cemetery, Centermoreland, with committal services Wednesday at 1p.m. . Friends may call Saturday, 10 until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to DaVita Dialysis, 5950 Route 6 West, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
