Suzanne Pusateri

Suzanne Jenkins Pusateri of Clarks Summit passed away Sunday morning at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. She was the wife of Joseph Pusateri, to whom she was married for 53 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Timlin Jenkins. Suzanne graduated from Scranton Central High School and Marywood University. She continued her graduate studies at the University of Scranton. Before retirement, she was a math educator for the Scranton School District. She was a faithful parishioner of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, a member of Glen Oak Country Club and an avid bridge player. She was also a former leader of Penn Serve, volunteering throughout the NEPA area and working to foster a sense of service and community in the youth she taught in school.

Suzanne lived her life to the fullest. She loved traveling the world and exploring new places with her husband. She also enjoyed spending winters at their home in Jupiter, Fla. There, she enjoyed countless rounds of golf, floated in the pool, admired the water views and socialized with friends. Suzanne spent much of her life at Lake Winola, with her parents and sister, and eventually, her children, grandchildren and other extended family members and friends. Suzanne loved the water, swimming and flying through the waves in her beloved motorboat. She was also passionate about exercising her brain. She was a Lifetime Master Bridge player, completed endless crossword puzzles and always answered the calls of her grandchildren when they pestered her for help with their math homework. Moreover, she was a constant fixture at all of her grandchildren's activities. She attended a myriad of sporting events, dance recitals and award ceremonies. She was tremendously proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments, and she unwaveringly supported their endeavors. Suzanne cherished time with family, and was sure to teach just how valuable family is. She will be deeply missed, but surely remembered for her vivacious personality.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Joseph Pusateri and wife, Michele, of Clarks Summit; as well as a daughter, Mara Gentilotti and husband, Gerry, of Collegeville; a sister, Joan Ludka and husband, Thomas, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Alexandra, Catherine and Michael Pusateri, of Clarks Summit; and Mark, Sarah, Katie and Anne Gentilotti, of Collegeville; and nephews, Thomas and Michael Ludka.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Michael Kondash for his incredible care.

The funeral will be Friday at Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. to be celebrated by her godfather, the Most Rev. James C. Timlin, D.D. Interment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.

The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
