Shirley Taylor Johnson Williams, 87, of Clarks Green, died Monday at Mountain View Care Center. She was the widow of Wayne Williams, who died Nov. 12, 2004. Her first husband, John Allen Johnson II, died March 31, 1961.Born July 9, 1928, in Carbondale, daughter of the late Cecil and Mabel Wilkins Taylor, Shirley was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, and after graduation she worked at Bell Telephone, Carbondale. She was a homemaker, raising her family for 10 years, and later was employed be the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for more than 30 years and had worked at Scranton State Hospital in the accounting department.She was a gentle loving woman who dearly loved her family. As a young widow, she was devoted to her family. A great homemaker, she enjoyed decorating her homes and gardening. A caring loving person, she enjoyed her pets. Surviving are three sons, John "Jack" A. Johnson and wife, Jacqueline, Waverly; Jeffrey Scott Johnson and wife, Margaret, Daleville; and James Taylor Johnson and wife, Alison, Dalton; a daughter, Lisa Beth Harris and husband, Daniel, Clarks Green; 10 grandchildren, Jason and wife, Breah; Justin and wife, Megan; Alexis, Alexandra, Chelsea, Ryan, Jillian, Daniel Jr., Patrick and Christopher; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Zoe, Justin Jr., Emerson and Oliver; and three stepgrandchildren, Ashleigh, Eric and Brian Williams. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Burton Taylor Sr.; and a stepson, Wayne Mark Williams.The funeral will be Saturday from the Waverly United Methodist Church, 105 Church St., Waverly, with services at 1 pm by the Rev. Michelle Lynn Whitlock, pastor. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.Arrangements are entrusted the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit. Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
