Rose DeRigge Harhood Rosipko, 91, a resident of Abington Manor, South Abington Twp., died Sunday morning, February 17, 2013. She was the widow of Leonard Rosipko, who died Oct. 20, 2007. Her first husband, Charles Harhood, died in 1960.

Born April 28, 1921, in Dalton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Celeste Capalango DeRigge. She graduated from Dalton High School, where she was an excellent basketball player. Rose was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose proudest accomplishment was that she provided and raised her four children to who they are today, due to the untimely death of their father. Rose was blessed as she watched her children and their families grow and flourish, making her even prouder. She enjoyed baking cakes and making homemade pizzas for her family gatherings when happy times were shared by all. She enjoyed bowling and bingo in her free time. Rose always appreciated the help and heartfelt visits shared with her family. Her gentleness and kindness will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Willow Brook and Abington Manor for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Rose over the past several years. Also, the family is very grateful for the wonderful medical care provided by Dr. Michael Turock, Dr. Eric Smith and AsceraCare Hospice.

Surviving are a son, Charlie "Chuck" Harhood and wife, Martha, Newton Twp.; three daughters, Mary Osterhout, Glenburn; Nancy Connors and husband, Eddie, South Abington Twp.; and Karen Trovato and husband, Carmen, Dalton. She was also blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren, David, Chris, Kim, Brian, Audrey, Michael and Anthony; and nine great-grandchildren.
