Rose Marie (Karwaski) Pechinak, 92, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of 46 years of the late Leonard Michael Pechinak, Sr. to whom she was married since June 24, 1948.
Born in Old Forge, PA on June 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Michael Karwaski and Martha (Lehman) Karwaski. Rose was an active member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Inwood, WV and Our Lady of the Snows Parish in Clarks Summit, PA. Rose had a passion for cooking and baking, but the center of her life was her faith and her family.
During her lifetime she lived in Taylor, PA; Stratford, CT; Clarks Summit, PA; Martinsburg, WV and Youngsville, NC.
Rose was the loving mother of Leonard Pechinak, Jr. and his wife Lorena Pechinak, of Clermont, FL; Joseph Pechinak and his wife Linda Pechinak of Youngsville, NC; and Karen Robinson and her husband Edward (Eugene) Robinson of Martinsburg, WV.
She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Michael Pechinak, David Cullen, Kelly Phillips, Brittany Nguyen, Brandon Cullen, Scott Cullen and Savannah Robinson, as well as great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. Rose was also very close to her nephew Robert Dretar.
She was predeceased by her siblings Edmund, Leo, John, Michael, and her sister, and best friend, Irene Dretar.
She will deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
Rose’s family will receive family and friends on Sunday, November 1 from 4-6pm at Jennings Calvey Funeral Home, 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA. The funeral will be held on Monday, November 2 at 9:30am from Our Lady of the Snows Parish, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Fr. Stephen A. Asomah. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Scott Twp., PA 18447.
