Rose E. Miller, 89, of Falls, died Friday, March 20, 2026 at Sacred Heart Hospice, Dunmore. She was a lifelong resident of her family’s homestead in Falls. She is now rejoicing in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born April 28, 1936, in Mill City and was the daughter of the late Eugene and Doris (Carpenter) Miller. She was educated in the Mill city schools and was a graduate of Falls-Overfield High School. She received her BA in education from Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina and later earned her master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Scranton. As an educator she taught in several elementary schools in the Tunkhannock school district and Falls Township.
A teacher at heart, Rose enjoyed the students she taught over the years. She also loved gardening and caring for the flowers she grew in her greenhouse. She was often found serving or playing the piano or organ at her church. Over the years, Rose also treasured many happy times with her family.
Surviving are two nieces, Barbara Chodan, Lititz, and Evelyn Brown and husband David, Tannersville, Pa, as well as a nephew, Timothy Coble and his wife Katherine, Hermitage TN.; and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Coble, and her brother-in-law Pastor Bernard Coble.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 28, from the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue Clarks Summit, with services at 12 noon by Pastor Kurt Seboe, pastor of the Northmoreland Baptist Church and Rev. James Howell. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at 11 am till service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Schultzville, Pennsylvania.
