Robert J. Savage, 97, of Scranton, died on Sunday, in Gino J. Merli Veteran's Center. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Pavalonis Savage who died in 2006. They were married for 55 years. He later married the late Virginia Brown Savage who died in January. They were married for 16 years.

Born August 25, 1928 in Scranton, Bob was the son of the late William and Violet (Rogers) Savage. He graduated from Holy Rosary High School in Scranton and went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Marine Corps during WW II and served in Tsingtao, China, eventually retiring as a Sergeant.

Bob worked for many years for the United States Postal Service, eventually retiring as Postmaster of Clarks Summit. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Church.

Bob was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, golfing, and watching the Yankees and football on TV. Bob took great pride in his garden and looked forward to seeing his flowers bloom every year.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who is survived by his children Bob Savage and wife Susan of St Charles, Missouri, Paul Savage and wife Sherry of Scranton, Joan Yusinski and husband Dave of Scranton, Son-In-law John Mohila, Dickson City. Grandchildren: Erica and Sam Li (4 great grandchildren), Kathryn and Tim Keeven, Ryan and Keri Savage (3 great grandchildren), Kyle and Casey Savage, Aubrey Savage and fiancée Spencer Jewett, Michael and Missy Yusinski, David Yusinski, Carrie Ann Mohila. Step daughter Wanda Brown Finch and husband Harlan of Clarks Summit (several grandchildren and great grandchildren). Sister, Violet Savage Pocius of Scranton.

He was preceded in death by daughter Marie Mohila, Dickson City.

The funeral will be on Friday at 9:30am at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-7pm at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit.
