Robert Edwin Post 72, of Clarks Summit, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday in Allied Services Hospice Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Catherine (Secunda) Post to whom he was married for over 32 years.
Born July 28, 1953 in Kingston, he was the son of the late Harry Edwin and Helen (Gray) Post. Bob graduated from West Side Central Catholic High School in Kingston in 1971. After high school he attended Penn State Wilkes Barre and also Williamsport Technical Institute. During this time he loved working on the farm and especially enjoyed the tractors.
He retired after 18 years of service with Supreme Oil Company as a truck driver. Bob was especially proud of his role at Luzerne County Community College where was the coordinator of the Motorcycle Safety Program. He was awarded the Most Outstanding Instructor award in PA and was nationally recognized for his role by the National Motorcycle Safety Foundation, Irvine, CA, being the first volunteer in PA to receive the honor.
Bob was also a member of the Irem Shriners and was a model train enthusiast, taking up much of the basement with his setup.
Surviving in addition to his wife are stepdaughters Lauren Stevens (Scott) of Syracuse, NY, Jaime Litts (Brian) of Roaring Brook Twp., grandchildren, Gavin and Jessica Stevens, Keegan and Kasey Litts and a brother John Post of Luzerne.
Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Post.
The funeral will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 21, at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. Interment, St. Catherines Cemeter, Moscow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Shriners Hospitals for Children," Irem Shrine, P.O. Box 307, Dallas, PA 18612.
