Robert Perrone

Rudolph J. Perrone, 83, of Nicholson, died Monday, September 17, 2012 at Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. His wife of 56 years, the former Phyllis R. Napolitano, died Jan. 8, 2005.

Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Giuseppe and Elena Caputo Perrone, he was educated in New York schools. He honorably served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was awarded the German Occupation Medal and Combined Air Lift Medal. Before retiring, he was a carpenter for 31 years at Pilgrim State Hospital, Long Island, N.Y.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Lanza and husband, Brian, Nicholson; and Elena Woll and husband, Herb, Brookhaven, Long Island, N.Y.; three sons, Joseph and wife, Linda, Brookside, Fla.; Rudy Jr., Setauket, Long Island, N.Y.; and Vincent and wife, Natalie, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A blessing service with military honors by the Air Force will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Jennings Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Jeffrey D. Tudgay, pastor, Our Lady of Snows Parish.
