Regina Caroline Stevens, 83, of Clarks Summit, died Friday, April 24th, in Allied Skilled Nursing. 

Born May 4, 1942 in Newton Township, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (Lipinski) Matylewicz.

Regina was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Newton Ransom schools. She graduated from Marywood University with a Bachelors in Science. Upon graduation, Regina attended Robert Packer in Sayre, PA. where she earned her certificate in Medical Technology . Regina retired in 1998 from Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY after more than 20 years.

Regina was an avid gardener. She loved to spend time in her flower gardens and vegetable gardens - they were legendary. Regina loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was creative and talented. Regina was known for the intricate Easter eggs that she would make for her grandchildren - always choosing the designs to suit their interests and hobbies. She was a devout Catholic and a faithful communicant of St. Benedict's parish. Regina enjoyed participating in bible study classes and further developing her spiritual growth. 

Survivors include her children Edward Stevens of Weedsport, NY, Julie (Mitchell) Hickey of Jordan, NY, grandchildren: Kristina (Michael) Hagenmeyer, Gracie Stevens, Joseph & Emma Hickey and great grandchildren: Michael, Braedon & Annabelle Hagenmayer, and Tyler LeGrett.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 15 at 10am at the Church of St. Benedict, 1849 Newton Ransom Blvd, Clarks Summit, PA with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. Interment at Abington Hills Cemetery, S. Abington Twp.
