Patricia Elizabeth Grant, 88, of Clarks Summit, died Friday at Abington Manor.
Born Oct. 9, 1933, in Clarks Summit, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary Elizabeth (Healey) Grant. A lifelong Clarks Summit resident, she was a 1952 graduate of Abington High School. Most of Pat's career she was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Data Center, Clarks Summit, as a computer operator, and later she was a clerk at J.C. Penney, Viewmont Mall; after retirement with her greet-friendly personality, she was a greeter at Walmart, Dickson City. She was a member of Our Lady of Snows Church, its Women's Guild and the Ladies Auxiliary Joseph A. Hall Memorial of the Clarks Summit Volunteer Fire Company #1 Inc.
Pat was a person about town often seen walking the dog at the time. She had a mind of her own and was always willing to help others. She loved her family and the time spent on the porch of the family homestead. Her kindness will be sadly missed.
Surviving are a dear friend, Mary Lou Dwyer, Clarks Summit; nephews and nieces, Thomas Matkosky (Cathy), Scott Twp.; Mary Beth Kime, Dickson City; William Del Prete (wife, Michelle), Madison Twp.; Cathy Ann Del Prete, Scranton; Mary Ellen Thomas (husband, Keith), Moscow; and great-nephews, Alex William Kime, Adam Eugene Kime and William Patrick Thomas.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Monica Matkosky, Jean Marie Grant and Ann Joan Del Prete.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Snows Building Fund, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411; or St. Ann's Basilica, 1239 St. Ann's St., Scranton, PA 18504.
