Michael Marasco

Michael A. Marasco, 64, of Scranton passed away following a sudden illness. He is survived by his mother, Madelyn Marasco, South Abington Twp, brother David Marasco, wife Mary Clare, sister Donna Quigg, husband Christopher, son Anthony Marasco, wife Monica Pearce, daughter Sarah Marasco and a beautiful assembly of family members including Deborah Marasco, Amy Kruzel, two nieces and a nephew. He is most recently predeceased by his father, Ralph Marasco.

Michael enjoyed delicious food and a passion for cooking and received an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America. He prepared countless exquisite meals for many patrons at several of the area’s finest restaurants. Michael also used his talents as a stone mason, brick layer and carpenter throughout his life careers.

His love of all animals, especially cats, provided him joy in recent years.  He also enjoyed donating time to local animal rescue centers.  Michael easily made friends with his charming smile and interesting conversations; perhaps, a wonderful character trait passed down from father to son!  Building and repairing motorized bicycles started as a hobby in recent years but he quickly developed that into a niche business. He was so proud to create unique custom bikes for each of his customers.

At the convenience of his family, Michael will be buried at the historic Clarks Green Cemetery following a Mass of Christian Burial, Church of St. Gregory. Funeral services are provided by Jennings Calvey Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 111 Colburn Ave, Clarks Summit, PA. To leave an online condolence, visit the funeral home’s website.
