Mary Williamson

Mary Kathryne (Sheridan) Williamson, 83, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2016, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the Honorable Francis Robert Williamson Jr., to whom she was married for 62 years.

Born March 12, 1933 in Scranton, daughter of the late Gerard M. and Kathryne Larney Sheridan, Mary Kay was a graduate of St. Paul's High School, Scranton, and Lackawanna Business College. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Bell Telephone in the engineering department.

She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, Hershey and former member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, York, and St. Paul's R.C. Church, Scranton.

A full-time homemaker, she devoted herself to raising her four children and keeping a beautiful home. She loved to laugh, to shop, and spend time with friends and family. She was a kind, caring person who had a smile for everyone she met.

Mary Kay was a loving wife and mother and will be missed every day by those who loved her.

Also surviving are two daughters, Ellen (Williamson) Myers and husband, Thomas, of Macungie; Patricia (Williamson) Frearson and husband, Nicholas, of New York City; two sons, Robert Williamson and wife, Joseline, Parlin, N.J.; Dr. Timothy Williamson and wife, Tenley, of Oconomowoc, Wis.; sister, Mrs. Walter (Patricia) Larkin, of Clarks Summit; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerard Sheridan, of Lincoln, Del.

The funeral will be held Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton, to be celebrated by Msgr. Neil J. Van Loon. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
