Mary Eloise (Mullen) Dwyer, 66, of Scranton, died Saturday at Green Ridge Health Care Center. She was the widow of Ralph John Remondelli, who died Jan. 14, 2004. The couple had been married more than 31 years.

Born March 30, 1950, in Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas E. and Josephine (Warenzak) Mullen, she was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School, North Scranton, and she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Wilkes College. She had been a teacher with the Scranton School District, having taught primarily at Neil Armstrong Elementary School.

Eloise was a true educator at heart in all her actions and an enthusiastic student of life. An avid reader who also dabbled in drawing, painting, theater and travel, she was free spirited with a personality full of life. She also enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.

Surviving are a son, Richard Remondelli, Factoryville; two sisters, Monica Porvaznik-McDonald, Scranton; and Eileen Ravallo, New York; sister-in-law, Assunta Mullen, Clarks Summit; nephew and nieces, Thomas Mullen, Clarks Summit; Tracy Porvaznick; Bradenton, Fla.; Carrie Porvaznik-Meredith; Scranton; Jennifer Bruno, Clarks Summit; and Joseph Krott, Clarks Summit.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward T. Mullen.

A memorial service will be Monday at 6 p.m. in Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Brent Stouffer, Pastor Clarks Green United Methodist Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 4 to 6 p.m.
