Margaret Ross

Margaret "Peggy" A. Finnerty Ross, 91, of Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. She was the widow of the late Edward W. Ross, who passed away on Sept. 6, 2000. The couple had been married for almost 50 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine Connors Finnerty. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School and spent her life taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren.

Margaret was a sweet, generous, kind and wonderful person. She was very proud of her family, as they provided her with everlasting love and devotion. She loved her family with every ounce of her being. The best days were the days family gathered around the dinner table to share a meal and laugh. Most of all, she was a faithful and caring wife who was truly the foundation for the overall well-being of her family.

The family is forever grateful for the wonderful care and stability given to Margaret by the Pleasant View Retirement Community, where she resided for the last four years.

She is survived by her three daughters, Margaret Tomko and her husband, Gerard, Hatboro; Ellen Ross, Doylestown; Mary Reynolds and her husband, Paul, Manheim; three grandchildren, Amy Magazu and her husband, Joseph, West Deptford, N.J.; Brian Tomko and his wife, Olivia, East Norriton; Sarah Lauck and her husband, Christopher, Alexandria, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Natalie Tomko; and her beloved and adored sisters, Catherine Quinn, Ann Donahoe, Veronica Bryden, Natalie Haggerty and Theresa Healy.

Margaret was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Gilroy, Claire Donaldson, Betty Kelly; and three brothers, James, Joseph and John Finnerty.

The funeral will be Thursday from Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. The family will receive relatives and friends, Wednesday, 4-7 p.m., at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
