Lorraine J. (Folta) Rafalko, 82, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday in Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Leonard W. Rafalko, who died May 20, 2013. The couple was married more than 49 years, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Born June 26, 1934, in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Ednock) Folta.
She lived in Clarks Summit since 1972, having moved from Scranton. A graduate of Dickson City High School, she formerly was employed by Samter Bros., Scranton, in the office as an administrator.
A loving and devoted wife and mother, she was dedicated to her family. She cherished her children. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching cooking shows. Her gentleness will be sadly missed.
Surviving are a son, Leonard W. Rafalko II, Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Janine Rafalko (James Hoffman), Frederick, Colo.; and Leane Rafalko Lesniewski (Mark), Raleigh, N.C.
The funeral will be Friday from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m., to be celebrated by the Rev. Seth D. Wasnock. Interment, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Snows Memorial Fund, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
