Lois Susan Badner 91, of Jefferson Township, died Monday, in Susquehanna Health and Wellness Center. She was the wife of the late Michael Badner, Jr who died in 2015.
Born January 4, 1934 in Scranton, she was the of the daughter of the late Frank and Susan (Butella) Kernan.
Lois worked for Gertrude Hawk as a candy maker. She was an avid reader and advocate of literacy and education. Lois also enjoyed bird watching and going to the family hunting camp. Her greatest love, however, was her family, especially her grandson Danny.
Survivors include her daughters, Michele Badner of Moscow, Dorinne Miller of Clarks Summit, Maryann Matoushek (Robert) of Waymart; grandson, Daniel Miller (Rebecca) of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law Beatrice Jenkins (John) of Dallas, and twin great grandchildren, Alice and Marguerite Miller, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son in law Stephen Miller, and brothers James, William and Paul Kernan.
The funeral will be on Saturday at 11am at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Ave, Clarks Summit. Interment to follow at Milwaukee Cemetery, Clarks Summit. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11am at the funeral home.
