Lloyd B. Hildebrand, 78, Waverly Township, PA, died peacefully Friday evening, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. He was the loving husband of Peggy (Conway), RN, for 51 years.

Born January 8, 1943 in Charleston, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Golden and Wana (Matthews) Hildebrand, Woodstown, NJ.

He graduated from Woodstown High School, Woodstown, NJ in 1960, and he received his bachelor of arts in English and Literature from Glassboro State College in 1968 and his master’s degree from Madison College in 1975.  He served in the U.S. Army as a chaplain’s assistant. As an ordained minister, he served as pastor for various churches. He was a teacher, counselor, and a professor at both Keystone College and Marywood University. Throughout his life, he wrote and edited many books. He had been CEO of Bridge-Logos, Inc., Alachua, FL, a Christian book publishing company.

Also surviving are five sons: Paul and wife Carie, Waverly, Jeffrey and wife Jennifer,  Franklinville , NJ, Tim and companion Shiva, North Abington, Mark and wife Christie, Fort White, FL. and David, Bradenton,  FL,; 20 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Hildebrand, and sisters Connie Dana and Armita Hildebrand.

He was loved by everyone who met him, and radiated the love of Christ.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Lloyd’s care has been entrusted to Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
