Lillian C. (Kervalavich) Vorozilchak died peacefully Sept 20 at Abington Manor in South Abington Twp. She was 101 years old.
Born August 24, 1922 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Theophilia (Skarnulis) Kervalavich and the widow of Phillip Vorozilchak, also of Scranton. Lillian, "Lil," as she was known to family and friends, was a lifelong resident of North Scranton, educated in the Scranton schools, and a faithful member of the St. Joseph's Lithuanian Church, now Mary Mother of God Parish. She was an active member of the community, volunteering in the St. Joseph's Women's Society.
Lillian was a beloved waitress at Stirna’s Restaurant, her home away from home, for nearly 40 years. Her refuge during happy and hard times, she loved working along side of her dearest friends and talking with her customers, seeing their families grow up over the years.
Lillian was the matriarch of her family, the ultimate caregiver, devoted mother, loving aunt, and doting grandmother. Her home was the hub of family gatherings, Sunday dinners, Fourth of July fireworks, Christmas Eve Kucois, and everyday stop ins for anyone heading down Ferdinand Street. She passed down traditional Lithuanian cooking, as well as American classics like “Nanny’s favorite soupie”, hot dog fever, and Jimmy Carter cake. She had many adventures on international cruises and was quick with a joke. Her kindness and open heart will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank Abington Manor for their loving care while she was a resident and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassion.

Abington Twp., daughter-in-law, Judith Vorozilchak, grandchildren, Dr. Allison (Dr. Christopher) Yingling, Tracey (Dr. Marc) Royo, Dr. Joseph Ruzbarsky, Emily (Atty.
