Philadelphia
Kenneth James Loftus, originally from Clarks Summit, passed away after a long illness at his home in Philadelphia on August 17th.
Born on June 1, 1956, in Scranton and raised in Clarks Summit, he was the son of the late James J Loftus and Nancy M (Loftus) Loftus.
Ken was a 1974 graduate of Abington Heights High School where he was an outstanding member of the Cross Country and Track teams. As a member of the Cliffs Yearbook staff, he was one of the main photographers that supplied more than half the yearbook photos.

For many years working at Northeastern University, he spent many happy years in Boston. Ken’s love of photography, local railroads and his hometown of Clarks Summit chronicled many historical scenes of the Abingtons from the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Loftus Klein.
He is survived by one sister, Margaret Morrison and husband Daniel in Florida. Two brothers, Christopher Loftus and his partner Louise McDonnell, of Clarks Summit and Edward Loftus, of Blaine, WA. Two nieces and four nephews.
