Joseph L. O'Hara died Saturday in Glendale, Ariz.
Born in 1928 in Scranton, son of the late William and Helen Murphey O'Hara, Joseph grew up in Pleasant Mount along with five siblings. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army Air Force.
Joseph worked as an industrial engineer and was an active leader of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Clarks Green. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Irish American Men's Association, St. Francis Kitchen and the VFW.
He is survived by his two daughters, Marie Bianca and husband, Bob; and Joanne O'Hara; grandson, Michael and wife, Rebecca Bianca; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by wives, the former Helen Spryn and Elizabeth Farrell; a son, Lawrence Joseph O'Hara; and five siblings.
The funeral will be Friday from Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera. Interment with military honors, St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.
The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
