John Paul Mulrooney, 75, of New Orleans, LA and Scranton, died on Monday, at Allied Terrace. 

Born November 18, 1947 in Scranton, he was the son of the late John G. and Virginia Ann (McHale) Mulrooney. He graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1965 and attended the University of Scranton. John honorably served his country in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam Era.

John worked in the hospitality industry as the night manager at the Quarter House in New Orleans for many years.    

Surviving are three brothers: Scott Mulrooney of Lake Winola, Michael Mulrooney of Lake Winola, and Dennis Mulrooney (Sally) of Richmond, VA, one sister: Sharon King (Del) of Pinehurst, NC, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by sisters, Carol Cartwright and Claire Mulrooney.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated from Mary Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William Street, Scranton. Interment with military honors, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA where he will be laid to rest next to his mother and beloved sister Claire. 

The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday from 5 to 7pm at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
