John A. Kyle

John “Poppy” Kyle, 80, of Clarks Summit, passed away at home on May 27, 2022. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was the son of late Melvin and Elaine Kyle, and preceded in death by his brother, Tommy; his sister, Mimi; and granddaughter, Crystal. John was born in Manhattan on Feb. 22, 1942. He later moved to Clarks Summit with the company Grummans, where he was a warehouse supervisor.
In John’s younger years he enjoyed riding his Harley and being the life of the party. At one of these parties, he met his wife, Connie, whom he has been married to for 47 years. They have two wonderful children they share, Joanne Kyle and Lisa Adams; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Ashly, Carrissa, Brandon, Katie, Brittany and Victoria; and  13 great-grandchildren. Pop would light up when his family came to visit, and he always had the best candy.
John loved history, the Civil War era was his favorite. John and Connie partook in many civil war reenactments, where they made lifelong friends and memories. As a hobby, John collected coins and Civil War memorabilia. John enjoyed movies of all genres, but especially old westerns and if you ask his wife, John was her cowboy. John was an exceptional line dancer and his two-step was unmatched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Kyle; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; brother, Eddy Larkin; his two sisters, Elieen Loper and her husband, Tedd Loper; and Miriam Feldmann and her husband, Ronnie Feldmann; along with many nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of John Kyle will be held on Friday, June 3, at 6 p.m. at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
