Jeneane Nicodemus Adams

Jeneane (Nicodemus) Adams, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed peacefully at home at age 87. Born in Homer City, PA in 1937, she was the second eldest of 7 siblings. The family moved quite a bit when she was a child before settling in Rochester, NY.

Jeneane married her husband Frederick in 1960 and raised their 3 children predominantly in Geneseo, NY. Jeneane was very active in the Geneseo community playing golf, bowling, gardening, and working as a legal secretary for Barrett and Joseph Quirk. She loved friendly competition and was Women’s Club Champion at Livingston Country Club. She had a dedicated bridge group and cherished those friendships. Jeneane was very creative and loved sharing her talents with others. She dried her own flowers for her incredible wreaths, often gifted to her friends for special occasions. She was a wonderful neighbor and loved to share her knowledge of plants, flowers, and birds with them.

Jeneane is survived by her husband of 64 years, Frederick, her son Bradford (Arizona), her daughter Julianne (Ron)(Oregon), and her daughter Erika (Tony) (Clarks Green, PA). In addition, she was the devoted “Grammy” to Riley and Marisa Barrett and loved living nearby while they were growing up. Jeneane was preceded in death by her siblings Suzanne, Paul, and Evelynn and is survived by Marie, Deborah, and David. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Jeneane loved her four-legged friends and walked many miles along the Trolley Trail with her beloved dogs. Donations in her memory may be made to the Countryside Conservancy www.countrysideconservancy.org/donation.

A Service in Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit on Friday, October 25th at 11:00 am. All are welcome.
