Jeanne Elizabeth Davis (Phillips), 72, of Clarks Summit, passed peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains, after a swift battle with a rare illness. She was the devoted wife of Mark Alan Davis.
Born July 2, 1953, in Philadelphia, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Clarence “Phil” Phillips (d.2003) and Betty (Ammon) Phillips (d. 2016). Raised in Clarks Summit within a large, close-knit family of eight siblings and dozens of cousins, Jeanne learned early on the value of kinship, a virtue she carried with her throughout her entire life.
Jeanne’s greatest delight was her family, a devotion that extended far beyond the walls of her own home. While she was an outstanding mother to her seven children, her maternal heart knew no bounds; she opened her doors to dozens of foster children over the years, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. Her spirit of service was a cornerstone of the community, where she was a constant presence in the Abington Heights schools and a dedicated volunteer delivering meals to those in need.
She was at her happiest when her home was full. Jeanne was famous for hosting Thanksgiving dinners and large family events that became the bedrock of her loved ones’ memories. Even as her health declined this past year, her resolve remained fixed on her family, ensuring she could be home for one final Thanksgiving together.
When not at home, Jeanne cherished family trips. She found peace on beach vacations, family cruises and countless trips to Disney World. A gifted knitter, a craft she inherited from her mother, Jeanne’s love was woven into every stitch. Many of her foster babies went to their new homes wrapped in her afghan blankets, and all of her children and grandchildren remain warmed by the blankets she created for them. She knit her way through dozens of Comets games.
In addition to her husband, Mark, she is survived by her seven children: Kelsey Elizabeth Kramer and her husband, Brian, of Clarks Summit; Matthew Davis and his wife, Stacy, of Westminster, MD; Scott Davis and his wife, Danielle, of Taylors, SC; Brian Davis and his wife, Susan, of Clarks Summit; Eric Davis and his wife, Johanna, of Greenville, SC; Greg Davis and his wife, Abisola, of Clarks Green; and Ty Michael Davis of Clarks Summit.
She was the adored “Nana” to her nine grandchildren: Olivia and Maiya Kramer; Alexander and Elena Davis; Jessica Miller; Lillian, Gabriella, and Joshua Davis; and Elijah Davis.
She is also survived by her four sisters: Suzanne Berkowitz and her husband, Byron; Beth Collins and her husband, Tom; Patricia Lindsay; and Dianne Young and her husband, Riki; as well as her three brothers: John Phillips and his wife, Jeri; David Phillips and his wife, Beverly; and Peter Phillips and his wife, Andrea.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing, honoring Jeanne’s lifelong commitment to serving those in need.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 3, 11 am to 1 pm at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
