Jean Frances (Latniak) Drasba, 80, of Scranton, died peacefully at home on June 9, 2026, surrounded by her adoring family. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Drasba who died October 13, 1996
Born September 25, 1945 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Marinach) Latniak. She was educated in the Scranton Schools. Prior to retirement at the age of 79, she worked for TJ Maxx in customer service for over 20 years and before that in area retail stores. While working in customer service she also served for over 35 years as a crossing guard at St. Paul’s School Scranton. She formerly worked in the garment industry.
Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the annual family trip to Wildwood Crest, especially the boardwalk. She loved playing cards with her brothers and sisters. She never missed her grandsons” football or basketball games, being their loudest fan. She enjoyed her monthly luncheon with the girls from Hills. She was happiest being with her family.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Erin, Lori, and Chris for their kindness and comfort in her time of need.
Surviving is her daughter Lori Sullivan and her husband, Matthew, Clarks Summit and her cherished grandsons Connor (fiance Ashley) and Jake, both of Clarks Summit, a sister Mary Matone, Throop, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Peter, Charles and a sister Christine Lowe and in-laws Luann, Barbara, Judy, Joseph and Charles.
The funeral will be Monday with memorial service at 11 am at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 111 Colburn Ave, Clarks Summit. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, 10 am to 11 am. Interment will be Cathedral Cemetery.
