James "Doc" Thomas Doherty, 82, Clarks Summit, died on Tuesday, in Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the husband of the late Patricia Doherty who died in 2024.

Born March 13, 1944 in Ayre, MA he was the son of the late James and Mary (Gavin) Doherty. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Paul High School and served in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 109th infantry from January 1965 - August 1970. Doc was an electrician with the IBEW Local 81, and a Project Manager for Proctor and Gamble until his retirement.

Doc was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Parish and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather (PopPop) and friend to many. He was also an avid Notre Dame fan.

Doc is survived by his children, Shawn (Fiona) Doherty of Bronxville, NY, Kelly (Gavin) Ball of New Cumberland, PA and Tricia (Brendan) Duffy of Easton, PA; 5 Grandchildren, Shannon, Tucker, Connor, Claire, Colm; nieces and nephews.

A blessing service was privately held and celebrated at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc, Clarks Summit. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
