Frank Timothy Callahan, 68, of S. Abington Twp., died on Monday, in Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Born June 22, 1955 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Francis) Callahan. Frank graduated from Scranton Central High School and served his country in the US Navy as an underwater welder. He worked for many years as a heavy machinery mechanic.

Frank enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and reading history books. He was a friend of Bill W. and was active with leading groups to facilitate strength and hope.

Surviving is one son: Patrick T. Callahan of Austin, TX, one daughter: Megan Callahan of New Castle, DE, three brothers: Bernard Callahan of Moscow, Gregory Callahan of MD and David Callahan of FL. 

He was preceded in death by brother, Kevin Callahan.

A celebration of Frank’s life will take place on Thursday at 6pm at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-6 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., S. Abington Twp., PA 18411.
