Frances Sullivan

Frances Loretta Kamosky Sullivan 90, South Abington Twp., died Monday morning in Holy Family Residence, Scranton. She was the widow of the late Joseph A. Sullivan, who died April 14, 1973.

Born Dec. 12, 1926 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Rogers Kamosky. Formerly of Greenfield Twp., she moved to Clarks Summit in 2006. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical School and was formerly employed at the Social Security Office in Carbondale. Fran also worked at Daystrom in Archbald where she met her husband, Joe.

She was a faithful member of St. Rose Parish, Carbondale, and a former member of the Greenfield Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.

She was an avid Bingo player and often visited the casino. Fran shared her great sense of humor and quick wit with all who knew and loved her. Most of all, Fran was a loving wife, a devoted mother and a beloved grandmother. Fran raised her four young children after being widowed at the age of 46; her family always came first. Her grandchildren visited her often for sleepovers. Fran loved holidays with her children and grandchildren and she never missed her dessert and coffee. Fran cherished her family and held near to her heart the fond memories of family beach vacations. Her gentleness will be sadly missed.

Surviving is one son, Michael Sullivan and girlfriend, Lynn Andrews, Greenfield Twp.; three daughters, Patricia Sullivan and wife, Sandra Hudson, Newark, Del.; Kathy Burrier, South Abington Twp., and Karen Gullone and husband, Rick, Olyphant; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Burrier, Madison, Wis.; two grandsons, Alec Burrier, Evansville, Ind., and Kevin Sullivan, Jermyn; step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth Miller and husband, John, Ephrata; and step-son, Joseph A.
