Elisa Fazio

Elisa "Elsie" Catherine (Novembrino) Fazio, Clarks Summit, died Sunday at Commonwealth Hospice of NEPA after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Alphonso Vincent Fazio. The couple had been married more than 54 years.Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Eliso and Lucy (Gallichi) Novembrino, she lived in Clarks Summit for more than 50 years, and was formerly of West Scranton. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School, and a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Clarks Summit.A devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she cherished her family, and was a friendly and kind person to all she met. Her genuine kindness will be sadly missed.The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the dedicated staff of Commonwealth Hospice of NEPA, especially Chrissy Jacoby and Karen Welcome, for their compassionate care. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann F. Hazzouri and husband, Alex J., Scranton; two sons, Pasquale "Pat" Fazio, East Stroudsburg; and Joseph Fazio and wife, Diana, Boynton Beach, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Durkin Fazio; four grandchildren, Sara and Rose Fazio and Annie and Patrick Hazzouri; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Solsman; two brothers, Vito and wife, Lorraine, California; and Daniel and wife, Alice, Vermont; a sister-in-law, Roseanne Novembrino, Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins.She was also preceded in death by a son, Lee Fazio; a brother, Richard Novembrino; and stepmother Mary Novembrino.The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Internment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Dunmore Cemetery.
