Dr. Blair L. Lewis

Blair L. Lewis passed away on April 5, 2025, at his home in Honesdale. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. His loving wife of 13 years is Theresa Oswald, MD.

Blair was born on May 5, 1955, in Columbus, Indiana in the hospital elevator. He was the beloved son of the late Delmar and Barbara (Halfaker) Lewis. Blair’s childhood was full of music and humor. As a teenager, he got his black belt in aikido and his pilot’s license and worked as an EMT.

Blair graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus, Indiana. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in “Camping” aka Outdoor Education from Indiana University. He then achieved his Master’s Degree, as well as his Physician Assistant qualification, from the renowned Cleveland Clinic. His studies extended to classical training in Homeopathy under the esteemed George Vithoulkas in Greece. He practiced Holistic Psychiatry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Blair was a lifelong meditator and student of yoga and vedic science. He traveled to India many times to learn more about the Himalayan tradition and further his study of ayurveda.

Blair was a published author of five books including Homeopathic Remedies for Health Professionals and Laypeople, Happiness the Real Medicine and How it Works and The Happiness Revolution: Creating Balance and Harmony in Your Life. He loved writing and wrote up until his final days. His desk (and the kitchen table) were littered with pens, papers and his beloved mindmaps.

Throughout his career (of which there were many), Blair left an indelible mark on the communities he served through his clinical expertise, kindness, generosity and terrible puns. He touched countless lives, and his legacy will live on through the many individuals he helped heal and the relationships he cultivated both personally and professionally.

Also surviving; a stepdaughter Arielle Larson and her husband Mark, their children, Harbor and Chamomile of Honesdale, Pennsylvania; a stepson Grant Plonske and his wife Lupita of Colleyville, Texas. His family also includes two sisters, Lisa Lewis and Sally Lewis; a brother-in-law, Jeff Starks; and two nephews, J'Gai and Faraji Starks.

Ceremonial Rituals will be conducted privately by the family at the Jennings - Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 111 Colburn Ave, Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, 18411. His final resting place will be the Ganga River, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India.
