Dolores Mysko

Dolores Comonitski Mysko, Clarks Summit, formerly of Dickson City, died peacefully and gracefully as she lived her life at the home of her daughter on Monday. She was the widow of her high school sweetheart, John Joseph Mysko, who died January 1, 1999. The couple had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary prior to his death.Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late John and Ann Washo Comonitski. She was a 1943 graduate of Dickson City High School. She moved to Clarks Summit following the death of her husband.Dolores' career was in fashion, she was employed over 30 years by Samters Brothers, Scranton, and later at Viewmont Mall as manager of the women's apparel. She enjoyed fashion from an early age, she shared this love with all and enjoyed coordinating and critiquing the outfits for others. She was an avid reader and was knowledgeable of current events.A woman of grand style, informed opinions and irrepressible zest for life, her best friend was her daughter; they shopped, traveled and spent time together. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Dolores treasured the happy memories and holidays shared with her sister's family. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Parish and its Women's Guild. She enjoyed volunteering at its annual Country Bazaar. She was also a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Olyphant. She was formerly active at St. Mary's Christian Mothers, Dickson City, and was a past president of Dickson City VFW Memorial Post 5937 Ladies Auxiliary, having also been a Girl Scout Leader. A proud member of Dickson City H.S. Class of 1943, she organized several class reunions. She enjoyed politics, having worked on political campaigns.Dolores was a former member of the Mid-Valley Hospital Auxiliary, a board member of Civic Ballet Theatre of Scranton, Waverly Women's Club and Century Club of Scranton.Surviving are a daughter, Sharon M. Calvey and husband, Christopher C., Clarks Summit; her cherished grandson, Christopher John and fianceI�e, Lauren Gambescia, both of King of Prussia; a brother, John S. Comonitski and wife, Jocelyn, Waverly; and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Wendolowski and her husband, Ray.The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Very Rev. Richard L. Davis, TOR, Minister Provincial, concelebrants Msgr. James J. McGarry, pastor and the Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay. Interment, SS.
