Born April 30, 1935 in Newton Township, he was the son of the late Stanley and Zida (Winters) Evans. David was was educated in the Newton Schools and was a 1954 graduate of Newton High School. He worked most of his life as a shipping and receiving supervisor for Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and later Kaplan Veal Meat Processing. Prior to retirement he was employed by Abington Heights School district at the North Campus as a custodian.
David was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. He was a devoted husband, father and most loving grandfather and great grandfather. He was a kind and gentle man, a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, and fishing near his home. Along with his wife, he enjoyed gardening and planting on their land.
Survivors include his children Dileen Casey and husband Thomas of Tunkhannock, Michele Remynse and husband Randy of Minot, North Dakota, David Evans and wife Liz of Falls, Judith Zeiss and husband Christopher of Newton Township, Natalie Adamsky and husband Matt; sister, Helen Richardson of Newton Township, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by children, Erin Evans and Gerard McAndrew, and brother Phillip Evans.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30am at the Church of St. Benedict, 1849 Newton Ransom Blvd, Clarks Summit, wiht a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-7 at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit.
