Anna M. Corcoran

Anna Corcoran, 74, of Scott Township, died on Tuesday, at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. She was the wife of Gerard “Jerry” Corcoran to whom she was married for over 50 years. 

Born July 30, 1949, in Pittston, PA, Anna was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Bullock) Laskowski.

Anna earned an Associates degree from Lackawanna Junior College. She started her career at Schott optical, then went on to work for Gerrity’s Grocery Market for more than 35 years as their Corporate Office Manager.

Anna loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid reader. One of Anna’s most treasured holiday traditions was celebrating Wigilia, a Polish Christmas Eve meal, with her extended family. Anna was a season ticket holder of the Broadway Theatre of Northeastern Pennsylvania for many years. She enjoyed activities at Abington Senior Center. One of Anna’s favorite pastimes was walking, especially with her neighborhood friends. Anna was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Parish.

In addition to her loving husband, Anna is survived by her daughter, Kim and her fiancé Garrett Nash of Dupont, PA; her son Gerard “Jerry” Corcoran, Jr., his wife Jennifer of Maplewood, NJ, and grandchildren Fiona and Casey. Also surviving are her brothers Charles Laskowski Jr. and James Laskowski, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9:30am on Monday from Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Msgr. Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit.
