Rose B. (Butash) Chermak 91, of Treasure Island, Florida, formerly of Clarks Summit, went to be with our Lord on Friday, November 13, 2015. She was the widow of Daniel E. Chermak, who died 1992
She was born May 20, 1924 in Scranton and was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Laktos) Butash. She was educated and was a graduate of the Scranton School district. She formerly was employed by Abington Heights School District, Clarks Summit.
Rose lived in Clarks Summit before making Treasure Island her permanent home. She was a faithful member for many years of Our Lady of the Snow's Parish, Clarks Summit, before moving to Florida. A loving wife and mother, she was most proud of her grandchildren and great grand children. Her good heartedness and gentle smile will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving; a daughter Gale Nickerson and husband Larry Treasure Island , with whom she resided; two sons: Daniel and wife Beverly, Clarks Green; and Scott and wife Peggy, Saddle Lake; five granddaughters Amy Matlock and husband Tim, Langhorne; Lindsay Chermak, Clarks Summit, Melissa Liput and husband Ron, Clarks Green; Lauren Olivetti and husband Nick, Philadelphia; Danielle Nickerson, Orlando, FL; three great grandchildren, Tyler Liput and Elle and Daniel Olivetti.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, five brothers, brothers, Frank, Joseph, Andy, Michael, Stephen and two sisters Agnes Kachanuski and Helen Nazar.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, November 28, at 9:30 a.m. at Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be celebrated by Rev. John M. Lapera, pastor. Rose will be laid to rest with her husband at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St. Petersburg,
The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday from 8:30 - 9:30 am at the church
