Richard Merriman

Richard L. Merriman, 87, of Clarks Summit, died Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife of 53 years, the former Isabel Crawford, died June 25, 2002.

Born Oct. 11, 1925, in Scranton, son of the late Richard L. Sr. and Kathryn Coleman Merriman, he lived in Clarks Summit most of his life and was a 1943 graduate of Clarks Summit High School. He furthered his education and was a graduate of Coyne Electrical School, Chicago.

A man of many talents, he was self-employed and owned and operated Dicks Fix It Shop, Clarks Summit, for more than 13 years. He formerly worked in his family's Paragon Marine and Supply Co., Scranton, business for several years.

Surviving are a son, Richard L. Merriman III, Newark, Del.; a daughter, Linda Lee Berry and husband, Richard, Dover, Del.; a brother, Robert Merriman and wife, Jean, Chinchilla; a grandson, Kevin Berry; a granddaughter, Kathryn Berry and fianceI�, Daniel L. Harmon; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with a private interment in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.
