Pearl B. Bright Pawling, 94, of Clarks Summit, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at home. Her husband of more than 55 years, Walter Paul Pawling, died March 16, 1997.
Born Oct. 6, 1917, in Scranton , daughter of the late Clement and Blodwen Williams Bright, she moved to South Abington Twp. in 1982, having lived in Hollywood , Fla. , for more than 26 years. Before retirement, Pearl was employed more than 40 years for Grand Union Co. and Grand Way Co. as a bookkeeper. Before retirement, she worked for them in Hollywood , Fla. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church , Clarks Green.
Surviving are a sister, Ruth Bright, Clarks Summit; niece, Sally C. Eastman and husband, Robert Jr., Shaftsbury, Vt.; two great-nephews, Robert H. Eastman III, Anacortes, Wash.; and Christopher Eastman and wife, Jillian, Syracuse, N.Y.; and a great-great-nephew, Alexander Llewellyn Eastman, Syracuse, N.Y.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Llewellyn Bright Sr. and Clement Bright Jr.; and a nephew, Llewellyn Bright Jr.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Jennings-Calvey Funeral Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave. , Clarks Summit, with services by Pastor Rob Hammaker of Heritage Baptist Church . Interment, Hickory Grove Cemetery , Waverly Twp.
The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, 10 to service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church , 415 Venard Road , Clarks Summit, PA 18411; or Southern Care Hospice, 851 Commerce Blvd. , Dickson City , PA 18519 .
Glad I got to see you and Grace before your juoenry. And glad she's gotten along with Clifford, Olive and Rosie. Even though she knocked down my fence, she's a really good girl and you're going to have a great companion. Wish I could go .love you.
