Mary Stanton

Mary Jane Cowhey Stanton 88 of, Clarks Summit, died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Charles David Stanton, who died February 4, 1996. The couple were married 50 years.

Born February 1, 1924 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and the late Agnes Donnelly Cowhey.

A Clarks Summit resident since 1967, and was formerly from Pottsville, Pa. She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church Parish, Clarks Summit and its Women's Guild.

She is survived by a son: Kenneth Stanton and wife Mary, Smithtown, NY, Two grandsons, Kevin Stanton and wife Monica of Danbury, CT Brian Stanton and wife Christine, Lynbrook, NY; 3 great-grandsons; Ryan, Connor and Brendan; Sister-in-law, Doris Stanton, Pottsville, PA. She was a loving aunt to Nancy, Jeanette, Pat and David. She was preceded in death by a sister Ann McCue and husband, George; brother-in-law, William Stanton and nephew, Jack McCue.

The funeral will be Friday from the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Our Lady of the Snows, 301 South State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment Fairview Memorial, Elmhurst. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

We loved "Molly". She spent a lot of summer holidays with us on our deck. She was such a sweet lady and we enjoyed her company. She was my mother's (Dolores Rozelsky) very dear friend. She will be missed but I'm sure she's very happy reuniting with Charlie.
