Janet Heim

Janet H. (Crockenberg) Heim, 83, of Dickson City, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, with her family at her side. Born on Feb. 8, 1937, in Scranton, Janet was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Kenyon) Crockenberg. She was the wife of the late George Heim, who passed away in 1970.
Having become a widow at the very early age of 33, Janet devoted her life to raising a loving family with patience and compassion. She devoted her life to her family and God and her faith was unwavering.
Janet worked in sales at Oppenheim’s department store until its closure. Afterwards, she worked at a family owned business for 30 years until her retirement.
Janet was blessed with a large and loving family. She leaves behind six children, Kathleen Mann, of Dickson City; Robert and Diane Heim, of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; Michael and Rose Heim, of West Hazleton; Scott and Diane Gilinsky, of Yardley; Richard and Jean Dunleavy, of Scranton; and George and Jeanette Heim, of Clarks Summit. Janet is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her late husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Gilinsky; son-in-law, Tiny Mann; and grandson-in-law, Chad Lewis.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the care givers who so selflessly treated their mom with dignity and respect, especially Margaret, Nancy, Heather, Michelle, all hospice nurses and Dr. Dominick Ruggiero.
A private viewing will be held at the family’s convenience. The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of  Christian Burial at 10 a.m. to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera, pastor, Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
The family asks all in attendance to maintain social distancing and kindly wear a mask for your protection and theirs.
In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Janet’s name to Traditional Hospice located at 113 W. Drinker St., Dunmore, PA 18512.

Dear Diane,Please accept my deepest sympathy at the passing of your dear mother. My Mom was buried two years ago this September so I know very well how you are now feeling. From what I read both of our mothers had large loving families and they were both the "anchor" of our faith and family life! .We were both blessed to have had them for such a long time! Father John will do a great job with the funeral. He is a very sensitive, compassionate priest and a great liturgist! I wish I knew you were in Yardley. I was there a few time over the last few years for meetings with the Grey Nuns of the Sacred heart. I was the lay director of the Grey Nuns Associate program for many years here in Lexington, MA.They were at 1759 Quarry Road but they sold that mother house and they are now located in Philly. Again my sympathies Diane. Can you believe that we left BK 44 years ago? The years have flown by! Please know of my prayers and sympathy for you and your extended family!TomThomas Mark Fallon
