James Jackson

James Stonewall Jackson, Clarks Summit, died Sunday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His longtime companion, Rose Watson, preceded him in death.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Robert Hall and Meta Beyer Jackson, Jimmy was a 1958 graduate of Clarks Summit High School. With his brother Buzzy, he owned and operated Abington Body and Fender Service, Chinchilla, for more than 60 years. The "Body Shop" as it was affectionately referred to, has been a center for the Jackson family and their many friends.
He was a life member of the Clarks Summit Fire Company No. 1 Inc., where he served as master mechanic and assistant master mechanic for many years. He had a great working relationship with the Chinchilla Hose Company, as well as other area fire and police departments. He was a social member of VFW Abington Memorial Post 7069.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Jimmy's nephew and right-hand man, Todd Chambers, who, with the help of loyal and devoted friends, continues to operate the shop in accordance with its 60 years of tradition.
Surviving are his nieces, Patti Jackson, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Kathi Chambers, Clarks Summit; Sandi O'Keefe, Mount Kisco, N.Y.; and Ellen Kotchick, Clarks Green; his sister-in-law, Peg Jackson, Clarks Summit; great-nieces and great-nephews, Cait and Molly Chambers, Meghan and James O'Keefe, and Reagan, Jackson and Peyton Kotchick. He is also survived by Rose's daughters, Gail Watson and Debra Yokavonis.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Buzzy" Jackson; his sister, Rose Marie Jackson; niece, Robyn Lynn Jackson; a half-brother and several half-sisters.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. from Jennings-Calvey Funeral Home Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with a blessing service by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Interment, Clarks Green Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesdayfrom 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Clarks Summit Fire Company, 301 Stone Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411; or the Jimmy and Robert "Buzzy" Jackson Memorial Fund, c/o the Student Aid Fund, Abington Heights High School, 222 Noble Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411
