Eric Johnson

Eric Randall Johnson, 47, of South Abington Twp., died unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep due to an apparent heart attack on Sunday at his home. His wife of 19 years was the former Molly Millett. The couple was married June 12, 1998.

Born Feb. 24, 1970 in Scranton, he was the son of Randall (Susan), Penn Lake, and Linda Mangle Jenkins (David), Clarks Summit. A 1988 graduate of Abington Heights High School, he received his bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from the Pennsylvania State University. He was the general manager for Advanced Auto Parts, Clarks Summit, and co-owner and founder of Taylor Beverage, Taylor. He was a member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, Penn State Alumni Association and Scranton Canoe Club.

Eric was a kind and thoughtful father, husband, friend, son and brother. He loved nothing more than being present at his children's sporting events and boasting of their successes in and out of the classroom. A devoted friend, Eric never forgot a birthday or other special occasion. He was a thoughtful and loving husband who cherished the time he and Molly spent together. A dedicated Penn State fan, Eric loved watching and cheering on the Nittany Lions from the stands or from his favorite chair. A fun-loving prankster and kind soul who brought much laughter and joy to all around him, Eric will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Also surviving are two sons, Luke and Tucker; and a daughter, Annie, all at home; four sisters, Aimee Jenkins-Griffin (Chris), Corey Johnson, Kristin Johnson and Maura Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Anne (Horwitz) Millett, Dalton, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Green, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera, pastor. Interment, Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.

The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Church of St. Gregory.
