Ellen Balko-Rex

Ellen Mary Domanish Balko-Rex, 60, Scranton, died Saturday at home. Her companion of 17 years is Joaquin "Jack" McGinty.

She was born March 11, 1953, in Scranton, the daughter of Joan Neu Campione, Scranton; and the late John Domanish. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She formerly was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Paul Coolican, West Scranton, where she worked several years. She was dedicated to her profession and to providing friendly and helpful care to the patients.

She was a loving person devoted to her family. She idolized her grandchildren, Devin and Madisyn; they were the joys of her life. She enjoyed sharing fun times with her family, especially at her grandson's football games. An avid shopper, she enjoyed buying things for her family. Ellen always looked forward to the family vacations at the shore and playing with the kids on the beach as she would worship the sun. Her loving smile and kindness will be sadly missed by all who loved her and her several pets.

Also surviving are two daughters, Nicole Damiano, Clarks Summit; and Lindsey Balko, Scranton; grandson, Devin Hudak, Clarks Summit; and granddaughter, Madisyn Hoover, Scranton.
