Eleanor (Clary) Rechlicz, 87, Clarks Summit, died Monday in Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Eugene J. Rechlicz. The couple had been married more than 58 years.Born July 27, 1927, in Columbus, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Lerch) Clary. She moved to Clarks Summit in 1969 from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and was formerly of Brookfield, Wis. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Sun Praire, Wis. She received degrees in business administration and fashion design from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wis. She was a buyer for Schuster's Department Store before starting her family. She and her husband, Gene, were the owners and operators of the Village Grocery in Clarks Summit for 33 years. Mrs. R is best remembered for her potato salad and holiday pies and cookies.Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish in Clarks Summit. She was a Girl Scout leader and board member of the Scranton Pocono Girl Scout Council. She and her husband had generous hearts as they had opened their home to numerous foster children. They had received the Foster Parents of the Year Award from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. She enjoyed cooking and baking with all of her grandchildren.Surviving are a son, Dr. David Rechlicz and wife, Stacie, Montrose; three daughters, Jean Rechlicz, Laura Notarianni and husband, Bill, Clarks Summit; and Nina Weis and husband, Mike, River Vale, N.J.; and grandchildren, Nicki, Kaitie, Jack, Paige, Claire, Elyse, Madison, Connor, Will, Riley and Carson.She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Ann; two infant daughters, Lisa Ann and Eileen Margaret; and a brother, Roland Clary.A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Elm Grove, Wis. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.Arrangements are being made by the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.Memorial contributions may be made to in memory of Emily Rechlicz, Women's Resource Center Inc., P.O.
