Guestbook

I've only just come across this obituary by chance, and I can't tell you how sad this news makes me.  Dr. Markunas used to joke about how I had "seniority" over him, since I was a patient of the doctor whose practice he took over and had been in his office longer than he.  He was a wonderful listener.  My husband became a patient of his after we married and enjoyed talking about cars with him.  After all the years Dr. Markunas put in, most of them as the sole doctor in that practice, after all those long days and late hours, we had so hoped he'd get to enjoy a longer retirement.  Our condolences to his family.  Your loss is ours as well.

I just googled to see if hopefully Dr. Markunas started practicing again :(  To his family, HE WAS THE BEST DR. I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE LIFE. He truly cared and that is something so rare these days. Not only was he caring but he diagnosed me properly and I was better. He changed the game for me. I am grateful to him always. All my love xoxox

Rebecca, i just passed your dad’s office for the first time in s long time and decided to look him up. When I saw this obituary I was very sad...I met your dad many years ago when I was a drug representative calling on your dad’s office. We, along with my colleagues, would enjoy dinners at restaurants and lunches in the office. We got to know him personally and professionally. He spoke of you and then your son with great pride! I remember his excitement too about travelling to Disney! I’m glad he movedClose to you for his final time. I’m sure he rests in peace.

To the Family:Very sorry to hear about the death of your love one. Although days, weeks and even months have gone by, I know your heart aches. May your pain be lessened by the promise that our love ones can live again. Please read these scriptures at Job 14:13; Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2 and Acts 24:16 as confirmation of that fact. May you be strengthened and comforted by God’s promise.

Sending our deepest condolences to Dr. Markunas' daughter and family. Your father was deeply liked for his caring and compassionate ways as a doctor.  Very hard to find any like him these days.  My mother (Dorothy Leftwich) was a long patient of his as, well. I'm praying that all of the good that your father has done, will lift your heart during this difficult period. Lifting your heart by adding laughter and peace that was shared to many by your father. He was not just a doctor as it's said, he was a compassionate ear to talk to when in his office for whatever illness. He didn't just treat you for the problem during the visit, he looked at long-term health concerns as, well. Markunas was a name that was always spoken by my mother when it came to "her" doctors.(LOL) He has left you a legacy to be proud of.  I pray that God will continue to cover your family and know that when you feel that tingling feeling in your heart, it's your father's compassion and love for you to embrace and smile.  God bless you,(Leftwich family)
