Denise Weiss
Denise Marie Weiss, 57, of Dalton, died on Friday, Dec. 17, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Facility surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with a rare form of cancer. She was the wife of James "Jimmy" Lee to whom she was married since 2015.
Born July 31, 1964 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Wayne Byrd and Joyce (Millard) Weiss.
Denise graduated from Pennsbury High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Massage Therapy. She was a self-employed massage therapist and truly enjoyed helping others receive relief from pain and ailments.
The enjoyment of Denise’s life was camping, sewing, and laying on the beach. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she was such a wonderful, caring mother and daughter.
Surviving in addition to her loving husband and parents is one son: Steven Paul Weiss, daughter: RuthAnna Marie Danowski; stepdaughters: Courtney Zech and Jennifer Degroff; four brothers: Mark (Karyn) Weiss, Mathieu (Julie) Weiss, Christopher Clark and Michael Byrd; one sister: Aimee Mack; stepmother, Betty Jane Byrd; 6 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by step daughter, Angel Shupp, and stepfather Ferdinand Weiss.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Brady and the staff at the Sacred Heart Hospice for their compassionate care for Denise.
A private cremation will take place at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411, at their on-site crematory. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday December 29th at 3pm at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1pm until the time of the service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950.
